We run Heidelberg presses up to B2 in size. These offer the highest quality print in quantities from 500 copies up to millions on just about any paper and card you require.
Compared to other printing methods, offset / litho printing is best suited for cost-effectively producing large volumes of high quality prints in an economically sound manner. Lithography is the most common method of producing print like magazines, brochures, stationery and books.
Here at W O Jones we use a CTP (computer to plate) system as opposed to the older computer to film workflow, which further increases quality, and reduces the need for chemicals, making it environmentally sound.
Advantages of offset printing compared to other printing methods include:
Consistent high image quality (Our Kodak Quantum CTP system images at 2560 DPI). Offset printing produces sharp and clean images and type because the rubber blanket conforms to the texture of the printing surface, giving you the customer the best quality.
Cost. Offset printing is the cheapest method to produce high quality printing in commercial printing quantities, we can do any size run all in house, so you don’t have to worry about anything!
We have Xerox Digital Presses on site. These print on various card & paper in silk, gloss and uncoated finishes. Perfect for short run high quality printing.
Today digital printing has completely revolutionised the printing process. Short run digital printing makes it possible for small quantities to be ordered at reduced printing costs and can even result in a much faster turnaround, meaning you get work out quicker!
Short run digital printing is the greatest innovation in the printing business today. The technology answers the needs of both big and small businesses in terms of providing quality custom printing while at the same time controlling their printing costs. Now printing projects are easier, faster and more economical so it is an ideal option for short run work.
Since digital printing does not use a static plate in it’s printing process you can incorporate variable data printing into your documents. Each brochure, flyer, post card or direct mail piece can be individually personalised with your customer’s name or account information. Variable data printing can result in much higher response rates which leads to higher profits, please ask us how this can help your business.

You will be provided with proofs and have several opportunities to review our work before we submit it for printing. In the end, your brochure must sell for you. We see the design as a critical element in that task

Print Finishing is considered a value-added process and includes laminating, die cutting, numbering, stitching, folding, foil blocking etc. Your choice of finishing can make a huge impact on your product and how your customer will perceive you.

Often with lamination you might not actually see the laminate which is a thin plastic coating heat sealed onto the paper. You will however feel it as it creates a smooth and impervious finish. This will likely be a matt laminate. Gloss lamination is more readable and again adds to the tactile quality of a page. Often lamination is used as a print finishing option to increase the life of printed brochures, reports and accounts, book jackets and most other forms of printed material.
Our cutting and creasing machines are capable of producing a variety of print finishing techniques including Kiss-Cutting, Die cutting, Creasing, Perforating & Embossing We are able to run material from 70gsm to 600 Micron.
Our guillotines are fitted with High Speed Tungsten Carbide blades which give much longer lifetimes between blade changes and a much improved quality of cut over the standard style of blade.
Sequential numbering can be applied to pre printed items such as invoices, delivery notes vouchers and tickets and other multi part sets.
Perforating can be applied at the same time as numbering. A useful print finishing option as it allows easy tear off of ticket stubs and simple removal of copies from duplicate books.
Collating copied and digitally printed jobs can be collated at the time of print. Litho printed un collated sheets can be collated up to six different sheets at one time.
These print finishing options can provide the ultimate in decorative appeal. They are not limited to gold and silver foils, but extend to an impressive range of pigmented, holographic and security foils. All of these can be combined with embossed images to produce varying tactile effects – any one of which will enhance the printed message and provide shelf appeal for greetings cards, stationery, magazine covers, brochures etc.
Most brochures, booklets, magazines, catalogues and many other printed documents are bound using saddle stitching utilising wire staples holding the pages together. A machine drives them through its backbone fold to the centerfold, where they clench. A saddle-stitched printed piece lies almost flat when opened, a useful print finishing method and a great convenience for readers.
